Successful 9th Annual Fallen Heroes Ride

American Legion Riders, Post 605, Dallastown, PA completed the Fallen Heroes Ride on Saturday, June 5, 2021. It was a beautiful day for a ride which started at ALR Post 605 in Dallastown, PA.  The event drew over 150 bikes and went off flawlessly. The ride honored, U.S. Army 1LT Daren Hidalgo, West Point Class of 2009, who was killed in the line of duty on February 20th, 2011 while serving in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, U.S. Marine Corps SGT Christopher Wrinkle, who was killed in the line of duty on July 31st, 2011 while serving in Herat Province, Afghanistan, U.S. Marine Corps SSG Tosca, K-9 Military War Dog, who was killed in the line of duty on July 31st, 2011 while serving in Herat Province, Afghanistan, U.S. Marine Corps SSGT Benjamin Hines, who was killed on April 8th, 2019 while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan, and ALL of our Fallen Heroes from the Greater York County, Pennsylvania area.    The ride culminated at the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden where the three Gold Star families were honored with Blankets of...

2021 Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship Award

Due to COVID 19 we opened up the 2021 Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship to all Dallastown Area High School (DAHS) seniors.   We received applications from over 25 well qualified students.  The memorial scholarship award committee decided to provide a scholarship to both Ryan Klutz and Lauren Garcia.  Ryan Klutz played lacrosse, and football.  He was a member of the National Honor Society from ninth through twelfth grade.  Ryan will be pursuing a degree in computer engineering at Virginia Tech.  Lauren Garcia participated in numerous school activities supporting the community.  She was active with the Big Buddy Little Buddy Program, served as President of the Health STAT Club, and was engaged with the school Interact Club.  Lauren was an active volunteer at the Country Meadows Retirement Community of Leader Heights.  This fall she will be pursuing a degree in Applied Health Sciences at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg.  Ryan and Lauren are the eleventh and twelfth recipients of the $5,000 Daren M. 2020 Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship Award

The 2020 Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship recipient is Joel Staub of Dallastown Area High School (DAHS).   Joel was a French Horn player and High Brass Captain for the marching band.  During his last three years of high school, he worked as private violin teacher and did numerous paid events in the Jubal String Quartet.  Joel was a member of the National Honor Society during his last two years in DAHS.  He will be pursuing a degree in music education at Ithaca College in New York.  Joel is the tenth recipient of the $5,000 Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship.   Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hidalgo family was not able to present the award  in person.  We wish Joel nothing but success as he embarks on his college...

7th Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing Excellence

On Friday, July 19, Team Hidalgo/Warner hosted their Seventh Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing at Western Lakes Golf Course in Pewaukee, benefiting military members and their families. With 154 golfers and over 300 event attendees, Team Hidalgo/Warner raised a total of $50,000 to benefit Fisher House Wisconsin, the Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund and Richard D. Warner Memorial Fund. The fundraising event included an 18-hole scramble, banquet dinner, raffle and silent auction. “This year’s event was our most successful golf outing to date, and I am in awe of our community’s constant support and generosity surrounding this cause,” said Jorge Hidalgo, Wilde East Towne Honda principal partner. “We are honored to host this annual event, not only to remember Daren and Rich, who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, but also to support those in uniform who currently serve, veterans and military families.” The families of Army 1st Lt. Daren Hidalgo and Marine Lance Cpl.
