Ninth and Final Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing

Posted by on Jan 18, 2023 in events | 0 comments

On Friday, July 22nd, Team Hidalgo/Warner hosted their Ninth Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing at Western Lakes Golf Course in Pewaukee, benefiting military veterans and their families.  With 150 golfers and over 168 event attendees, Team Hidalgo/Warner raised a total of $38,820 to benefit Fisher House Wisconsin, the Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund and Richard D. Warner Memorial Fund. The fundraising event included lunch, a raffle and an 18-hole scramble. The families of Army 1st Lt. Daren Hidalgo and Marine Lance Cpl. Richard ‘Rich’ Warner presented Fisher House Wisconsin with a $12,900 donation check on September 21.  This amount represented their contribution from funds raised at the Ninth Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing. Having wrapped up the Ninth Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing, it’s the perfect time to look back at what we’ve accomplished over the years.  The combination of registrations, donations, and sponsorships enabled us to raise over $374,000 that have:  funded scholarships for deserving high school students, supported Fisher House which helps families of military veterans stay close when they’re hospitalized far from home and also supported other worthwhile veterans’ causes. We’ve honored the memory of 1LT Daren Hidalgo and LCPL Rich Warner, whose lives and lasting legacy still inspire everyone who crossed their path and many who followed in their footsteps.  Your time, financial support, enthusiasm, heartfelt tributes, and commitment year after year have made it all happen. This has been the last Memorial Golf Outing, but far from the end of our journey.  Daren and Rich will continue to shine their light on the world. The great causes we’ve supported will continue their important work supporting veterans. You have made this possible.  No words could adequately express our appreciation for that.  You have given so very much and enriched many lives along the way.  Thank You! We welcome your continued support in memory of Daren and Rich: Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund- https://www.rememberdaren.com/memorial-fund/ Richard D. We had another great group of Dallastown Area High School (DAHS) students that applied for the 2022 Daren M. Hidalgo Scholarship.   The memorial scholarship award committee decided to provide a scholarship to both Michaela Long and Kaden Kashner.  Michaela was a student council representative all four years at Dallastown Area High School and elected Class President during her senior year.   She participated in numerous school activities supporting the community to include the Mini-Thon which assists families with pediatric cancer.  She was also active with the school Interact Club and the Health STAT Club.  Michaela was a teacher at B*Dazzled Dance Studios  and a youth coach of the On-Core Competition Dance Team  This fall she will be pursuing a Psychology degree at Virginia Tech.  Kaden Kashner played varsity soccer and coached a girls U12 soccer team.  He has written hundreds of letters to servicemembers overseas as part of Operation Gratitude.  Kaden will be pursuing a degree in Business Management at the University of Pittsburgh. Kaden and Michaela are the thirteenth and fourteenth recipients of the $5,000 Daren M. Hidalgo Scholarship.  We wish Kaden and Michaela much success as they embark on their college...
